“I have been blessed to witness the drastic changes in Tinca, Romania firsthand from the time FMN was formed in 2006 with a “God size dream,” to what became a reality in 2007 through the opening of the FMN Isaiah Center. The difference in the children from the first day at the center until now is like night and day. They have the love that every child deserves, a refuge from the harshness of the village and bellies filled with nutritious foods. First and foremost, they now know Jesus, who loves and cares for them, and has brought FMN to protect them and be the voice of these precious children.
Through the persistent presence of FMN in the village, caring for the basic humanitarian needs of families to assist in caring for their children, hearts are opening to the love and hope of Jesus Christ. They meet and see people from the United States, Canada, England and Romania who come to work alongside FMN to be the hands and feet of Christ, to love and encourage them, and to assist in caring for their needs. The parents are learning accountability in caring for their children and “giving back.” Whether it is helping with repair and/or construction on other Roma family homes or helping at the center with projects, gardening, or collecting firewood, their eyes and hearts are now open to helping others in need.
I can’t wait to go back to Romania every year to continue and build on the relationships with the children and families cared for through FMN as they have become family to me, and will continue to assist in any way possible. We pray that each one in this village accepts Jesus in their hearts and through Him, have the hope and strength to begin to change the cycle of abuse, neglect, poverty and abandonment that they have endured for many generations.”
