FMN 5th Annual Benefit and Silent Auction—SAVE THE DATE!!! OCTOBER 1, 2011

BRAND NEW LOCATION DUE TO SOLD OUT CROWD AT 2010 EVENT—GEIS ACTIVITY CENTER

benefit-dinnerMark your calendars now!  Plans are underway for FMN's annual fund-raiser.  Through a team effort of corporate sponsors, auction item donors, volunteers and those in attendance, the annual benefit has made a huge impact on this ministry.  Proceeds from these past events, along with a few personal donors and a small loan, FMN was able  to purchase the Isaiah Center.  Proceeds were later used to pay off the debt on the Center in less than two years!  Proceeds also allow the ministry to continue to function with daily costs providing care for the children and their families in Tinca, Romania.  Care provided includes food, medicine, shelter, clothing, and educational opportunities for our children and adults.  With a remodeling project of the Isaiah Center being planned in the near future, as well as having just purchased land and a house to expand the ministry, this benefit is more important than ever!

Tinca Riverside Property: Help FMN Expand Our Roma Ministry

house-by-river_newsletter_jan_2011The time is now! FMN has been prayerfully pursuing a riverside property in Tinca for close to 1 year now, and we have now purchased the property! God is faithful!

The house has a large living room, kitchen, bathroom, and 7 large bedrooms where we can begin housing our teams who come and serve alongside of us throughout the year. It is a perfect environment for outdoor worship, prayer walks, future expansion of the Isaiah Center, fellowship and future projects to develop.

Welcome new team members

urb-and-michelleWe would like to welcome a new addition to our team at the Isaiah Center. Urb and Michelle Wagner, from Northside Christian Church in New Albany, IN, are moving to RO to come and join our team for a season. They have made several trips here on “mission teams” and have decided they are called to come and help! We are so excited and thankful. Please pray for them as they leave their jobs, family and friends and make this transition.  Welcome Urb and Michelle!

Be the voice for Roma (Gypsy) children, spread the word on Facebook

fmn-facebook-pagePlease help us spread the word about our mission to better the lives and give hope to impoverished, neglected, and abandoned Roma (Gypsy) children.

Poverty is pervasive throughout Roma society, many children can be seen wandering the streets with no clothes or shoes. Most parents are reduced to begging and stealing to eke out an existence. This behavior has been passed down for generations and is only made worse by the overwhelming racism and hatred directed towards Gypsies throughout Europe. The Roma people are highly discriminated against. They live on the outskirts of towns in disease- and waste-ridden villages. Gypsies are seen as a filthy and stupid people. The discrimination extends to local agencies and schools that do not encourage the Gypsy children to go to school, perpetuating the rampant illiteracy and stereotypes about their low intelligence.

January 2011 Newsletter

Home for the Holidays

christmas_newsletter_jan_2011It was an amazing feeling to step off of the plane in America knowing that I would be able to spend my first Christmas in seven years at home with family! The six-year adoption battle was over, Izabella would be spending her first Christmas with family, and would get to meet new cousins that had been born while I was gone, watch Izabella soak in and be in awe of everything she saw, visit and catch up with my church family, and relax in the living room with my parents, brother, and sister-in-law. There just is no better feeling in the world than to be with family, and it is one that I cherish deeply! It was absolutely perfect getting to run around to grandparents’ homes, celebrate with different family members, and go to all six of Northside’s Christmas services and watch my baby girl sing with her Boo Boo (grandpa). I have two homes and live in two worlds, but there’s nothing like being with family.

It was wonderful seeing all of you this trip home! Thank you for the dinners, encouragement, prayers, and hugs! I am blessed with an amazing family and church family! Izabella enjoyed every minute!
